The celebrity platform HDXV teams up with IVY PH for this standout feature.
IVY ‘s dance cover of Buttons has already surpassed 500,000 views and is rapidly approaching the 600,000 mark.

HDXV: What inspired you to choose Dream Academy’s Buttons choreography for your latest performance?

IVY PH: We chose Dream Academy’s “Buttons” choreography because we were honestly captivated the first time we saw it. There was this raw confidence and elegance in the way it was performed that somehow resonated with us and our style.

Further, it wasn’t just about the moves but also about the attitude and intention behind every gesture.

Hence, we saw it as a chance to explore a different side of IVY as a performer, to challenge our control, precision, and emotional expression.

Aki

How did you approach making the choreography your own while staying true to the original style?

As a group, we have a deep respect for the artistry, precision, and hard work that go into K-pop choreography. That’s why we always strive to stay true to the original moves and formations, it’s our way of honoring the incredible creativity of the choreographers and artists who inspire us.

At the same time, it’s just as important for us to bring our own identity into every performance. Once we’ve learned the choreography, we shift our focus to infuse with our own energy and style.

Whether it’s through our facial expressions, stage presence, or the way we connect with each other and the audience, we aim to make each performance feel genuinely “us.”

Ultimately, we’re inspired by the groups we look up to, and our goal is to deliver performances that remain faithful to their vision while showcasing our own personality and passion.

Jini

What was the most challenging part of producing the Buttons music video for your crew?

The biggest challenge was syncing everyone’s availability and maintaining energy across takes, especially under time pressure.

Coordinating rehearsals, outfits, venue, and shoot logistics while aiming for a polished output really tested our teamwork and time management. In the end, seeing the final cut made all the hard work worth it.

Nini

How do you think Filipino dance crews like IVY PH are ranked among dance crews in Davao City and the Philippines?

Filipino dance crews like our group IVY PH, an emerging all-female K-pop cover group, are steadily gaining recognition within the K-pop dance cover community.

We may not yet be ranked among the popular dance crews in the city nor represent the Philippines on the global stage, but we believe we stand out with our true-to-detail choreography, growing social media presence, and dedication to our performances.

Building on this momentum, our participation in the Globe Hangouts GoKOREAN: K-IDOL Revolution, which was held during the 12th Annual Philippine KPOP Convention and Zero Studios’ Hallyu Hype 2025 in Manila, where we ranked 2nd runner-up, has served as our stepping stone in showcasing our growing reputation and highlights our standing in the competitive world of local K-pop dance cover crews in the Philippines.

Sarah

What message or feeling do you hope the audience takes away from your Buttons performance?

We hope that the audience would feel the passion and confidence brought about our Buttons performance considering that the members put in a lot of effort in learning the choreography as well as the style of the dream academy members itself, then integrating our own style.

More than just a dance, this performance was a fusion of hard work, admiration, and self-expression. We want the audience to feel the intensity, the joy, and the story we’re telling—not just through the steps, but through the soul we brought to the stage.
